Welcome to the i-ching app.

The I Ching, also known as the Book of Changes, is one of the oldest and most revered books in Chinese history. Its origins can be traced back to over 3,000 years ago, during the Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BCE), where it was used as a divination tool for the ruling class. It is based on the principles of Taoism, an ancient Chinese philosophy that emphasizes harmony with nature and the universe. It is a book of wisdom that offers guidance and insights into all aspects of life, from personal relationships to political decisions. The I Ching is composed of 64 hexagrams, which are combinations of six solid or broken lines. Each hexagram has its own meaning and represents a unique set of circumstances or situations. The hexagrams are arranged in a specific order, with the first hexagram being Ch'ien, the Creative, and the last hexagram being K'un, the Receptive. The I Ching is used in divination to answer questions or offer guidance. The divination process involves casting yarrow sticks or coins and using the resulting pattern to determine which hexagram to consult. Once the hexagram is determined, the seeker can read the corresponding text to gain insight into their question or situation. This process can be quite complex and time consuming so to save you time, spend a moment reflecting on your question. Then type it into the box below and you will get a customised answer back in moments.
